Be Informed and Prepared: Your Guide to the 2026 Elections in Seminole County
Amy PennockAs we look ahead to the new year, Seminole County voters will have the opportunity to participate in an important election cycle that includes races at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels. Although Election Day may feel far off, now is the perfect time to ensure you are informed, engaged, and prepared.
From key deadlines to early voting schedules and the list of offices up for election, the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office is committed to making sure every voter has the tools they need to confidently participate. Below is a snapshot of what to expect.
- Primary Election: August 18, 2026
- Voter registration and party affiliation deadline: July 20, 2026
- Deadline to request a mail ballot: August 6, 2026
- Early Voting: August 8-15, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Voter registration deadline: October 5, 2026
- Deadline to request a mail ballot: October 22, 2026
- Early Voting: October 19 - November 1, 2026, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
If you plan to vote by mail, remember that you must have an active request on file. Requests expire after each general election cycle.
Voters will see contests across all levels of government, including:
- Federal: U.S. Senate and U.S. House District 7
- State: Governor, Attorney General, CFO (Chief Financial Officer), Agriculture Commissioner, multiple legislative seats
- County: Commission Districts 2 and 4, Circuit and County Court Judges
- School Board: Districts 1, 2, and 5 (nonpartisan)
- Soil and Water Conservation District
- Municipal Offices across all seven cities, including mayors and city commission/council seats

The best way to ensure your vote counts is to verify your information early:
- Check your voter registration status
- Update your address, name, or DL (driver’s license) as needed
- Confirm your party affiliation (Florida is a closed-primary state)
- Sign up/renew your Vote by Mail request
These simple steps help prevent delays and ensure a smooth voting experience.
